Founder // E-ryt 200
Rockford born and raised, Ally founded 815Yoga upon discovering the absence of a yoga community when she returned home from her studies at the University of Missouri, followed by her 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training in Costa Rica through Yoga on High (based in Columbus, Ohio). The community that she found through yoga, and that is yoga in its truest essence, was something that helped her in finding her own path, and something that she felt Rockford desperately needed.
When Ally opened 815Yoga’s doors in June of 2017, her goal was to create and sustain a space where everyone would feel welcome and at home, above everything else. She has since organized a team of highly skilled and highly loving instructors and staff to uphold this environment while she lives abroad in Thailand. You can find Ally behind the 815Yoga scenes and connect with her anytime via email, WhatsApp (+18158717629), Facebook, and Instagram.
Studio Manager // RYT 200
Jim joined the 815Yoga team in the fall of 2017 as a substitute yoga teacher while he acquired his 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training at Moksha Yoga Center in Chicago, and, in January 2018, he made his debut as one of the core instructors on the team. Jim now teaches several times a week, and, when he's not teaching, he finds his way back to the studio to be the student. His personal practice is strong yet gentle; you’ll feel this delicate balance of strength and ease in his teaching style, rooted in ancient yogic tradition. Jim has a calm and grounding presence in a studio full of women, and his classes are a true pleasure.
Suzy loves movement of all kinds. She was initially drawn to yoga in high school when she found it helped her to gain flexibility as a dancer. She went on to coach the varsity dance team at Boylan High School before deciding to pursue the path to becoming a yoga teacher. Suzy completed her 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training at 815Yoga through Blue Soul School of Yoga in the summer of 2018. She enjoys both practicing and teaching a variety of yoga styles including vinyasa and yin. Suzy is our 815Yoga ambassador for Ale Yeah Yoga held bi-monthly at Prairie Street Brewhouse. Wherever you find her, you’re in for a beautifully choreographed flow set to music that’ll make you want to get up and dance!
Cindy began her yoga practice in Santa Barbara, California, where she learned to love a variety of yoga styles including Vinyasa, Yin, and Kundalini. She became enamored with the mind-body connection of the yoga practice as well as its healing and regenerative effects. She completed her 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training through Yandara Yoga Institute in Sweden in the summer of 2018. Cindy effortlessly fuses traditional meditation practices into her asana classes and believes yoga is truly for everyone. When she is not at the studio, you can find her studying for pharmacy school or taking care of her plant babies. Join Cindy on the mat for an experience full of sweetness and authenticity!
Joy loves staying active — if you go to her classes, you know this to be true. She started practicing yoga in 2015, drawn to the physical benefits, as so many Westerners are. Quickly, however, she began to see that yoga was so much more than physical exercise. As soon as she felt the mental and emotional benefits of the practice, she was hooked. Her practice became a daily ritual, and she knew she had to share this amazing thing called yoga with everyone she met. Joy completed her 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training at 815Yoga through Blue Soul School of Yoga in the summer of 2018. Her classes are the perfect mix of sweet and spicy, never without a challenge. You’ll leave sweaty and empowered to take on the day!
Jessie is our superhero yoga sub! She never fails to save the day when we need her most. Her classes shine with love and sweetness, mixed in with a sneaky dose of strength and power! Say hello when you see her at the studio rolling out her mat to practice next to you, and, when you see her name on the class schedule, know you're in for a treat!
